Elisa Turco is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Family Law
Elisa’s clients appreciate her straightforward advice, quick wit and generous sense of humour, which make her a valuable ally and guide through the complex web of family law.
Specialising exclusively in family law since 2016, Elisa has a long-standing background in mediation and has worked as a family dispute resolution practitioner since 2012.
Elisa’s experience in facilitating mediations has fostered a very pragmatic approach to curating bespoke solutions for family conflict. She understands how different each family situation can be. She is particularly sensitive to circumstances where children are vulnerable such as mental health, alcohol and drugs, family violence and high conflict or complex parenting arrangements.
During her career, Elisa has helped many clients in situations of family violence both where her client has been the victim and alleged perpetrator, and in circumstances where she is the mediator in such matters. She understands the complexities involved in dealing with cases where there is family violence and how to manage both parenting and property disputes when allegations are made.
Elisa enjoys helping clients with property disputes, including drafting pre, during and post relationship financial agreements; she prides herself on settling the majority of her property matters without needing to commence court proceedings. In recent years, she has successfully assisted several clients and their children to relocate outside Victoria where there has been vigorous opposition from the other parent.
Elisa’s unique skill set means she is well qualified to help clients settle out of court. But she will always push for litigation if it’s in your best interests; and she proves tough in court.
Elisa is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Law Council of Australia and works to support the Women’s Information and Referral Exchange (WIRE) as a volunteer.
When you can get her to stop working, Elisa is passionate about spending time with her adult children, walking with her rescue Doberman Edward, reading and eating out. As a past board member at the Collingwood Children’s Farm, she continues to volunteer when she can.
Let me be your voice in troubled times.
